Jalen Jackson had 16 points,Ā  six rebounds, three assists and two steals to lead and Purdue Fort Wayne forced 21 turnovers in a 77-57 win over East Texas A&M on Saturday in a non-league game in Commerce, Texas.

The Lions' only lead in the game came at 2-0. PFW led 36-26 after 20 minutes. Maximus Nelson made three 3-pointers in the first 2:21 of the second half to all but end East Texas A&M's chances of a comeback.

Corey Hadnot II was 6-of-9 shooting for 15 points with two assists and two steals. Nelson and Eric Mulder both had nine of their 14 points in the second half.

The Mastodons scored 20 points off the Lions' 21 turnovers. Purdue Fort Wayne turned it over only eight times.

Purdue Fort Wayne out-shot the Lions 50.9% (29 of 57) to 40.0% (20 of 50). Scooter Williams Jr. had a game-high 19 points for East Texas A&M.

The Lions fell to 1-7. Purdue Fort Wayne is 5-3. PFW opens league play at 1 p.m. Thursday at Detroit Mercy.
