The TinCaps dropped their eighth consecutive game Thursday, falling in 6-4 in 10 innings at Peoria after Chiefs catcher Leonardo Bernal hit his team's second walk-off homer in as many nights, his 10th home run of the season, at Dozer Park in Peoria, Illinois.

Bernal's home run came on the heels of Darlin Moquete hitting a walk-off two-run homer in a 3-2 Chiefs win Wednesday. Peoria has won the first three games in the series by a combined four runs.
The losing streak is Fort Wayne's second eight-game slide of the season. They also lost eight straight in July 2016. The TinCaps' 16 extra-inning games coming into the night were fourth-most in all of Minor League Baseball.
Padres No. 1 prospect Ethan Salas extended his on-base streak to 15 games with a double and a single. He came into the night fourth in the Midwest League in doubles with 23.
Devin Ortiz and Tyler Robertson each had two hits and drove in a run for Fort Wayne while Nerwilian Cedeño reached base three times with a single and two walks and also had an RBI.
The TinCaps (45-72, 17-34 second half) erased an early 3-0 deficit and took a 4-3 lead with two runs in the eighth, tying the game on a Robertson single and going in front on a Colton Bender hit that also saw Robertson get thrown out at the plate.
The Chiefs knotted the score in the bottom of the inning with the help of an error to open the frame on third baseman Rosman Verdugo.
The TinCaps failed to score in the 10th despite having the free runner at second to open the inning and after right-hander Joan Gonzalez struck out Moquete to open the bottom of the frame, Bernal took him to deep to left-center to give Peoria the victory.
Fort Wayne starter Enmanuel Pinales worked five innings and gave up three runs (one earned) on three hits while striking out seven and walking one. Pinales lowered his ERA to 3.73 after coming into the game eighth in the MWL in that category.
Dwayne Matos pitched two scoreless innings in relief for the TinCaps and Will Geerdes worked two in which he did not give up an earned run.Â
