Komets forward Yanick Turcotte was suspended one game by the ECHL, despite a change to penalties he received in Sunday°®¶¹app™s 6-1 victory at Memorial Coliseum over the Cincinnati Cyclones.
The ECHL on Monday rescinded the instigation penalty and subsequent misconduct, reducing his total penalty minutes in the game from 41 to 29. Those penalties came from a fracas with Cincinnati°®¶¹app™s Rhett Parsons 16:04 into the third period.
Turcotte still has the misconduct for being an aggressor in the fight which carries with it a mandatory one-game suspension because it took place in the final 5 minutes of the third period. Without the recension of the box score, Turcotte could have faced a multiple-game suspension.
Interestingly, the box score no longer reflects the instigation penalty that gave the Cyclones the power play for their lone goal by Matt Murphy.
Turcotte will miss the Komets°®¶¹app™ game Saturday at the Coliseum against the Wheeling Nailers.
