At the 2024 IHSAA state finals in February, Wawaseeapps Julie Mishler (21.85 seconds) joined Pennapps Lilian Christianson (21.72) in breaking the Indiana state record in the 50-meter freestyle, which stood at 21.93 seconds before the finals.
In the Warriorsapp home meet Tuesday against Concord, Mishler swam a 21.56 in the event, breaking not only Christiansonapps state record but also the national high school record, set by Olympian Gretchen Walsh, who swam a 21.59 in the event in 2020.
appI really hammered my training this summer,app said Mishler, who will swim for the University of Louisville. appIn the springtime, I went out and trained in Colorado at the Olympic training center for two weeks. (Itapps just been) consistent training over the (summer and fall).

Immediately after the meet, Mishler departed along with her family for Greensboro, North Carolina, where she will swim Thursday in the 2024 Speedo Winter Junior Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center before making the 10-hour drive back to Syracuse to swim in Saturdayapps Wawasee Invitational.

NORTHROP 54, EAST NOBLE 41: At Northrop, Khala Williams-Thomas led the way for the Bruins (6-2) with 18 points and six steals in the opener to a varsity doubleheader, while Miley Wareing added a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds) for the victors. The Knights (6-4) fell behind by 11 points at halftime, 23-12, but cut the deficit to six points after three quarters at 34-28. After a 3-0 start, East Noble has alternated wins and losses in its last six games, while Northrop won for the fifth straight time.
DEKALB 64, CONCORDIA 55: At Concordia, the Barons stormed out to a 21-8 lead after one quarter. The Cadets (4-6) pulled to within seven by halftime, but DeKalb stretched its lead back to 15 points by the end of the third quarter. The Barons (5-3) snapped a three-game slide, extending their win streak over Concordia to four.
SOUTH SIDE 64, SOUTH ADAMS 37: In Berne, the Archers won for the second time in three games following a 1-7 start, improving to 3-8 and avenging a 63-56 home loss from last season. The Starfires (3-7) saw their two-game win streak come to an end.
WAYNE 59, MARION 40: In Marion, the Generals (8-2) doubled up the host Giants by halftime, 34-17, to claim their seventh consecutive win after a 1-2 start. Wayne has won five straight against Marion, with Tuesdayapps 19-point victory margin the smallest in the stretch.
BLUFFTON 78, WABASH 52: In Wabash, Isabella Stout shot 12-of-18 from the floor to finish with a career-high 27 points for the Tigers (10-1). Konley Ault and Maryn Schreiber both added 18 for Bluffton.

HOMESTEAD 36, DEKALB 26: At Homestead, the Spartans (3-1) rebounded from an overtime loss at home on Friday by claiming a defensive struggle against the Barons (2-2), who fell to 1-2 against SAC competition this season. Homestead scored 18 points in each half, holding DeKalb to just 10 first-half points.
NORTHROP 63, EAST NOBLE 44: At Northrop, the Bruins (3-1) completed the varsity doubleheader sweep thanks to 24 points from Marshawn Warfield. Ahmad Salam (13) and James Browning (11) also scored in double figures for Northrop. The Knights (0-1) trailed just 26-23 at halftime before fading late in their season opener, which was delayed due to the football team playing in the Class 4A state championship game.
SOUTH SIDE 78, LEO 52: At South Side, the Archers (4-0) shot 66% from the field, getting 26 points from Demarcus Barr and a double-double (16 points, 12 rebounds) from Zachariah Belcher. Now 4-0 for the first time since the 2018-19 season, South Side will visit rival North Side Friday for a chance to go 5-0 for the first time since 2006-07. The Lions (2-2) fell back to .500 after winning their first two games of the year.
NORWELL 47, BISHOP DWENGER 42: At Dwenger, Adam McBride led three for the Knights (3-1) in double figures with 13 points. Nick McBride added 12 and Owen Wallis 11 for Norwell. The Saints (0-2) lost for the fourth straight time in the series.
ANGOLA 81, WOODLAN 72 (3 OT): In Woodburn, the Hornets (3-1) trailed by five in the second overtime before rallying to force a third, snapping a four-game slide against the Warriors (2-3) in the process. Tyler Ruple scored 20 points for Angola.
CANTERBURY 58, EASTSIDE 46: At Canterbury, the defending Class A champion Cavaliers (3-1) continued their strong start, jumping out to a 33-21 halftime lead. The Blazers (0-3) trailed 46-39 with 4:19 left before Canterbury extended its advantage over the final minutes.
GARRETT 47, FREMONT 39: In app, the Railroaders (5-0, 2-0 NECC) stayed perfect under first-year coach Logan Traylor, snapping a six-game regular-season losing streak to the Eagles (1-2, 0-2).
