Joshua Kulka threw five touchdown passes for Saint Francis, McCall Ray hauled in three catches for 158 yards and two scores and the Cougars powered their way to a fourth win in five games, beating visiting Lawrence Tech 77-14 on Saturday at Bishop D°®¶¹app™Arcy Stadium.
Since a season-opening loss to Indiana Wesleyan, the Cougars (4-2) are scoring 55.8 points per game. They have crossed the 70-point barrier twice, making it the second time in program history and first since 2002 they have done so two times in a season. They have scored 60 points on three occasions, tying the 2008 team for the most such games in a season in program history.
Saint Francis fell behind 7-0 at the 9:58 mark of the first quarter, when Lawrence Tech (1-4) capped off a nine-play, 81-yard drive with a score. The Cougars responded with two scores in a 4:45 span.
Saint Francis broke the game open with three touchdowns in a 1:13 stretch spanning halftime. Kulka threw a pair of TD passes in the final minute of the first half, and Ray scored from 75 yards out on a wide receiver pass from Adjaye Dandridge on the first play from scrimmage of the third quarter.
Ray also had a 55-yard touchdown reception from Kulka. The quarterback completed 15 of 19 passes for 280 yards Saturday. He has thrown five TD passes three times this season and is up to 20 touchdowns against three interceptions all told while completing 70% of his passes and gaining 10.3 yards per attempt.
Saint Francis°®¶¹app™ 77 points are tied for the third-most in a game in Cougars history. It°®¶¹app™s the team°®¶¹app™s most prolific output since a 79-20 win over Missouri Valley in the 2016 NAIA playoffs.
The Cougars outgained Lawrence Tech 575-242.
BLUFFTON 42, MANCHESTER 10: At Spartan Stadium in North Manchester, Manchester quarterback Dante Chaney threw for 194 yards and a touchdown but also tossed two interceptions and was sacked three times as the Spartans fell to 0-5 for the second straight year.
Manchester was outgained 353-247 and has an average margin of defeat of 28 points.
Abdullah Abdulameer had six catches for 49 yards and a 2-yard TD reception.
