An Allen County judge on Friday found a man accused of stabbing his girlfriend multiple times incompetent to stand trial app two months after he admitted guilt in a plea agreement.

Christopher Moore, 36, of Fort Wayne is accused of attempting to kill his girlfriend in December when she tried to break up with him, according to a police report written by Fort Wayne Police Detective Ben MacDonald. The woman was in life-threatening condition when she was brought to a hospital for treatment of her stab wounds.

Before she was taken to surgery, the victim told police that Moore, her boyfriend of six months, stabbed her after she found sexual messages between him and his childapps mother, court records show. The woman told Moore she was done with the relationship and attempted to leave.

As she tried to walk out of the home they were in, she felt a pressure in her back.

In all, the woman said she thought Moore had stabbed her seven times in the back, court records show. She also suffered cuts to her throat and ear.

Eventually, she was able to jump out a window and get help from neighbors.

In August, Moore pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in exchange for dropping his other charges, including attempted murder, invasion of privacy and four counts of domestic battery. Two sentencing hearings failed to go through. The same day as the second failed hearing, Mooreapps attorney filed a motion to determine Mooreapps competency.

Two doctors evaluated Moore leading up to Allen Superior Court Judge David Zentapps decision.

Moore will be sent for treatment with the hope that he will be restored to competency, meaning he will be able to assist in his own defense and understand the proceedings in his case. He is expected back in the courtroom in January.
