Downtown is set to welcome a new coffee destination this fall. Crescendo Coffee & Café, slated to open in September, will occupy a spot inside The Pearl at 248 W. Main St.

A sister location to Crescendo Coffee & More in Quimby Village, the new spot will feature a unique lineup of signature drinks. It will also offer options for people enjoying the designated outdoor refreshment area downtown.

Open seven days a week, Crescendo Coffee & Caféapps menu will include fresh, locally sourced food and drink options suitable for morning commutes, lunch breaks and evening treats. Grab-and-go items will also be available for those on the move, according to a news release.

The café will boast cozy seating and soft lighting, aiming to provide a tranquil space. Plans are in place to host community events in collaboration with local businesses and organizations.

Crescendo Coffee & Café will share The Pearlapps first-floor commercial space with Duckyapps, a restaurant featuring duckpin bowling, and Amore Italian, Steak & Seafood, a new fine-dining establishment.

The Pearl, a mixed-use development spearheaded by Chuck and Lisa Surack, will feature 76 apartments and five live-work units. Residents will enjoy exclusive discounts at Crescendo through their Pearl Perks card.

First Watch to open

A popular daytime café chain is coming to Fort Wayne.

First Watch, known for its fresh breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings, is planning to open its doors in the city before yearapps end. The new eatery will be located at 4541 Illinois Road, occupying the space previously held by Tilted Kilt and next to Smoky Bones.

From hearty omelets and frittatas to lighter options like avocado toast and granola bowls, the menu features a range of dishes to satisfy both indulgent cravings and health-conscious diners alike.

Offerings include million dollar bacon; the Chickichanga, a protein-packed breakfast burrito; and the A.M. Superfoods Bowl, featuring coconut milk chia seed pudding.

This will be First Watchapps seventh location in Indiana. The restaurant is expected to feature a spacious layout, accommodating up to 172 guests.

A notable addition will be a dedicated bar area designed to serve both indoor and outdoor patrons.

First Watch plans to maintain its signature daytime-only hours. Customers can expect the restaurant to be open 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.

Brunch event

Copper Spoon, 301 W. Jefferson Blvd., has set Aug. 24 as the date for its annual brunch event.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that Saturday, the restaurant will transform its usual evening ambiance into a daytime brunch spot. While the full menu remains under wraps, the restaurant promises a mix of brunch classics alongside new dishes.

Brunch is open to all ages, but space is limited for those younger than 21.

Spicy wings at LeeappsThe National Chicken Council reports that the average American consumes over 17,000 wings in their lifetime. Leeapps Famous Recipe Chicken aims to capture a slice of this market with their latest offering, which features their signature blend of spices with an added kick.

Starting Monday, the chain is adding spicy wings to its menu.

Available in orders of six, 12 or 20, the new Spicy Wings come with a variety of sauce options, including bonsai, chipotle ranch and fiery Buffalo.

Customers can order the new Spicy Wings and other Leeapps favorites in-store or online.
