A new twist on dessert is rolling into town as Cinnaholic, a gourmet vegan bakery chain, prepares to open its first Fort Wayne location.

The store, specializing in customizable plant-based cinnamon rolls, will welcome customers starting Friday at 407 Coliseum Blvd. W., Suite 109.

app entrepreneurs Carrie and Mark Snyder, who own the local Sky Zone franchise, are introducing Fort Wayne to Cinnaholicapps concept.

Cinnaholicapps unique selling point? Allowing patrons to create their own cinnamon roll masterpieces from an array of frostings and toppings, all while adhering to a 100% vegan recipe. There are more than 20 frosting flavors and 20 toppings to choose from.

To celebrate the grand opening, Cinnaholic Fort Wayne will offer a appSignature Rollapp for $2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. There is a limit of one per guest.

This location marks Cinnaholicapps entry into the Fort Wayne market and is part of the chainapps nationwide expansion, which recently passed 100 stores.

30 years for Wings Etc.

Wings Etc. Grill & Pub is celebrating 30 years in business this month, with an eye toward expansion and innovation.

Founded in 1994 by Jim Weaver in Mishawaka, the sports bar chain has grown to 80 locations across the Midwest. CEO Rob Hensmann says the company plans to continue its growth with a new fast-casual concept.

Ivy Tech fundraiser

Ivy Tech Community Collegeapps Fort Wayne campus is set to host appA Reason to Taste: Masquerade,app a fundraising event featuring Italian-inspired cuisine, on Sept. 20.

The event, which supports scholarships and opportunities for hospitality administration students, will offer five food exhibits showcasing Italian flavors. Menu items include assorted meats and cheeses, polenta cakes, grilled octopus and shrimp, lemon pasta, carved beef tenderloin with marsala sauce, gelato and biscotti.

Inspired by the hospitality programapps recent trip to Italy, the evening will also feature games, live music, a silent auction and a cocktail hour.

The fundraiser will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Ivy Techapps Coliseum Campus, 3800 N. Anthony Blvd., in Room 1640. Cocktail hour begins at 5:30 p.m., with the main celebration following from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Organizers encourage attendees to wear business casual or cocktail attire. Masks are optional.

Irish Oktoberfest

An Irish pub hosting a taste of Bavaria might seem an unlikely pairing. However, the German Heritage Society and Deer Park Irish Pub are collaborating to bring an Oktoberfest celebration to Fort Wayne on Sept. 21.

The event, running from noon to midnight at Deer Park, 1530 Leesburg Road, will feature German-inspired brews from five 46808-area breweries. These specially crafted lagers aim to capture the essence of traditional German beer.

Visitors can expect a day filled with German music, hourly door prizes and competitive events. A pretzel tossing contest is scheduled for 4 p.m., pitting six two-member teams against each other. At 7 p.m., 12 men and 12 women will compete in a stein hoisting contest, with grand prizes for the winners of each division.

The menu will offer German cuisine including bratwurst with Bavarian cream kraut, German potato salad, pretzels and spiced soft cookies. A variety of Oktoberfest-style beers will be available on draft.

The event is for those 21 and older, and there is a $1 cover charge. Free parking will be provided across the street at University of Saint Francis.

Merlotapps menu

Eddie Merlotapps recently introduced a new happy hour and lounge menu, offering premium dining at reduced prices.

The upscale restaurantapps happy hour, available from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, features $5 off craft cocktails and martinis, and $8 off select red, white and sparkling wines.

The new bar bites menu is tiered, with options ranging from $10 to $20. The $20 tier includes a lobster roll, lamb lollipops and crab and avocado cocktail. At $15, diners can choose from Eddieapps prime cheeseburger, filet mignon sliders or an onion ring tower. The $10 tier offers ahi tuna wontons, loaded potato chips, filet mignon potstickers, prime French dip sliders and house fries.

A separate lounge menu, available daily during regular hours, features items priced from $10 to $29. This menu includes many of the bar bites offerings, providing more accessible pricing for the restaurantapps premium dishes.
