An Allen County church met as scheduled Sunday morning °®¶¹app“ about 12 hours after shots were fired and two were injured during a large outdoor event.

Many questions continued Sunday to surround the shooting that involved an Allen County Sheriff°®¶¹app™s Department officer.

Allen County Sheriff°®¶¹app™s Department deputies were called about 9:15 p.m. Saturday to Central Ministries at 5801 Schwartz Road on the county°®¶¹app™s northeast side. A New Haven Police Department officer had called for urgent assistance and said a suspect was pointing a firearm at him, the sheriff°®¶¹app™s department said in a news release.

The deputy located the suspect and other officers on the church property during a large outdoor event.

The deputy, who has not been identified, fired his department-issued weapon. Two people from the scene were taken to a hospital in °®¶¹appœfair to serious condition,°®¶¹app the release said.

One suspect, who also has not been identified, was detained, Sgt. Adam Griffith of the sheriff°®¶¹app™s department said in the release.

The sheriff°®¶¹app™s department did not immediately respond to questions about the circumstances of the shooting, including whether the officer°®¶¹app™s bullet struck anyone.

The Indiana State Police are investigating, which is consistent with the sheriff°®¶¹app™s department°®¶¹app™s policy for incidents when an officer°®¶¹app™s firearm is discharged.

No further information was released Sunday.

Central Ministries held services as scheduled at 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday.

The church posted on its Facebook page early Sunday that it was thankful for God°®¶¹app™s protection Saturday night.

°®¶¹appœWe are ready to show up in the morning for a time of worship to The God who is our peace, our protector, the only God who can turn a tragedy into a beautiful time for the body of Christ to come together,°®¶¹app the post said.
